AGMA’s workforce training program in gear manufacturing is a multi-level program that includes three courses: Fundamentals of Gearing, Gear Inspection and Hobbing.
The creation of these online training courses was made possible by a grant from the AGMA Foundation. Read more about each course below.

Fundamentals of Gearing
Get a solid beginning in the basics of gearing. The course includes a study guide designed to be used with the online lessons, a sample exam to help students measure their progress and a final exam.
Each student who successfully completes the exam will receive a certificate.
Prequisite: None. This course is a pre-requisite to all other AGMA online courses.
Cost: $159 (AGMA member) $295 (non-member)

Gear Inspection
This more advanced course examines the why and how of inspecting gears. Students will review several inspection methods and when to use each.
The course offers instruction in reading and understanding inspection charts routinely available from modern inspection equipment.
Prequisite: Fundamentals of Gearing

Hobbing
This new course is the third module in AGMA’s Online Workforce Education Program. The Hobbing course includes all required course material, a study guide and the certification exam.
